Environmental excavation and demolition is a different discipline than standard site work. A contractor has to move earth and take down structures while keeping the project inside NJDEP waste rules, tank closure procedures, erosion controls, and dewatering permits. Anco Environmental Services performs that work with our own fleet and our own operators, which is how we hold schedule, cost, and environmental compliance together on the same project.
What Environmental Earthwork Really Involves
Controlled excavation on a remediation or redevelopment site means more than digging to grade. Our crews segregate clean and impacted soil, manage it under NJDEP waste classification, install dewatering and water-treatment systems where groundwater enters the cut, and coordinate with our in-house LSRP on confirmation sampling and sidewall documentation. Underground storage tank removals are performed under the NJDEP UST rules, with soil sampling around the tank grave and closure documentation prepared for regulatory submission.
Demolition on active environmental and industrial sites adds another layer. Concrete slabs, foundations, and structures often sit directly above the impacted zone, so demolition sequencing, shoring, and dust controls have to be planned against the cleanup rather than separate from it. Our operators are trained to work alongside sampling crews, and our equipment is rated for the conditions that remediation sites present.
Because every machine and operator on the project is ours, there is no subcontractor handoff to wait on when the work runs into unexpected conditions, and no finger-pointing when regulators ask who did what. That accountability shortens schedules and, in most cases, lowers total project cost.
- Controlled excavation, trenching, and remediation cuts with sidewall sampling coordination
- Residential, commercial, and industrial underground storage tank removal with closure documentation
- Structural and concrete demolition on active environmental and industrial sites
- Dewatering, shoring, and erosion controls engineered to site conditions
- Engineered backfill, compaction, and site restoration to final grade
If your project needs a single contractor for the earthwork, tank removal, and restoration, with LSRP and PE backup for the environmental side, we can put together a scope and a realistic schedule. Call (908) 201-4722 or contact us to walk the site.
